Unless otherwise noted, all classes offered by KevTech are designed for the Apple iPhone and iPad. They last roughly an hour and a half, are limited to 20 attendees, and include time for questions and answers at the end. Call or email to book a private class.
These classes are designed for all users of the Apple iPhone or iPad; content is applicable to both devices.
This introductory class introduces new users to the basics of using the iPhone and iPad. We cover the hardware of the iPhone and iPad, important areas of the devices, and accessing common tools like the flashlight, alarm, and camera.
Learn how to use the Notes app to jot down ideas, make checklists, scan documents, and keep your thoughts organized. This class covers everything from creating simple notes to sharing and collaborating with others using iCloud.
Discover how to use the Calendar and Reminders apps to keep track of appointments, tasks, and daily routines. You’ll learn how to add events, set reminders, create lists, and even use Siri to help you stay on schedule with ease.
This class focuses on using the iPhone and iPad to stay in touch with friends and loved ones. We learn about sending texts in Messages, managing contacts in Phone, and setting up video calls in FaceTime. We also learn to use Siri to make calls and send messages.
In this class, we explore how the iPhone can help in different emergency situations and offer insight into our health. We learn how to set up emergency contacts, use the SOS feature, turn on voice activation, and use the Health app to find patterns and changes in our physical health.
This class provides a general overview of the iPhone and iPad Settings app. We learn where to find information on our Apple accounts, manage the information stored on iCloud, and synchronize our devices.
In this class, we explore the Settings app, examining ways to adjust our devices to suit our individual needs. We learn to access important information about our devices, update the software, and customize important features like Do Not Disturb, Face ID, and notifications.
In this class, we learn about different ways to customize the iPhone and iPad to suit your preferences better. We’ll cover reorganizing our Home Screens, creating folders, changing the appearance of our displays, and changing the image used for the wallpapers and Lock Screens.
In this class, we learn to add helpful widgets to our Home Screens, choose which apps can send us notifications, and further explore options for customizing our wallpapers and Lock Screens.
This class covers essential features included in the iPhone and iPad. We learn to use tools such as a flashlight, timer, calculator, and alarm. We also explore the Files app, where we can scan documents and organize files.
This class covers a variety of tools and features built into the iPhone and iPad. We learn to share our locations with our friends and family, make safe, secure payments with our phones, and converse in different languages using the Translate app.
In this class, attendees learn about the basics of email and the Apple Mail app. We explore the Mail app to learn about sending/reading emails, checking your inbox, and clearing junk and archive folders.
In this class, we learn to use the Books app on iPhone and iPad to find books and read them on our devices. We explore different titles, find free books, and make text easy to read on smaller screens.
These classes focus on capturing photos and videos on the iPhone and iPad.
In this class, we dive into the Camera app on the iPhone, exploring different features of the camera and adjustments that can be made for taking pictures in different settings. We also go into Photos and discuss organizing photos into Favorites and Albums.
This class explores the features available in the iPhone for editing photos. We discuss different ways to organize our photos, then select a photo to practice editing with. We learn about filters, adjusting colors and lighting, and cropping/resizing our photos.
In this class, we learn to use the Camera app to take videos. We explore settings that can be changed to adjust video quality and discuss how to take different types of videos on the iPhone. We also go into Photos to learn to edit videos.
This app explores all the available features on the iPhone's Photos app, including using Favorites and albums to organize photos, sharing photos with friends and family, and creating short compilations of photos and videos.
Following an introduction where we discuss photography concepts, we walk to a preselected location to learn about different photography techniques, such as portrait mode, panoramic photos, and more. We get hands-on practice with the camera's different features, then return to the classroom for a slideshow of favorite photos.
iMovie is Apple's moviemaking app. In this class, we learn how beginners can turn a collection of photos and videos from our library into a memorable slideshow commemorating a trip or event. We cover adding music, stylizing our slideshows, and more.
These classes dive into specific apps that can be used on the iPhone and iPad for different purposes.
In this class, we explore the Spotify app and learn to use it to explore music from artists we love, build playlists of songs and albums, and listen to audiobooks and podcasts.
This class explores two of the most popular e-commerce platforms available. Amazon is a diverse global marketplace, allowing us to find deals on everyday items such as clothing, electronics, books, and even groceries. Groupon allows us to find discounts for experiences and events locally and in surrounding areas.
This class covers Safari, the internet browser native to Apple products. We uncover the ways Safari can help with searching for information, including using Google and bookmarking important sites, and how AI applications like ChatGPT can assist with everyday tasks like writing emails, exploring different topics, and doing research.
This class explores three different apps: Instacart, Uber, and Venmo. These apps are used for ordering groceries to be delivered, getting rides from one place to another, and making transfers from your bank or card to friends and family.
This class dives into two popular ride-share apps, Uber and Lyft, and teaches participants to use them to find rides, order groceries, and much more. We learn to book rides for ourselves and others, add payment methods, and stay safe while ordering rides.
Instagram is one of the world’s most popular applications for viewing and sharing photos and videos. Users can create, edit, and post their own content, as well as view posts from online content creators. This class teaches participants to navigate Instagram and share their own photos and videos with others.
Facebook is a popular social media platform where people create profiles, connect with friends and family, share posts, and interact through comments, messages, and groups. This class dives into the Facebook app and shows participants how to post content, view posts, and interact with friends.
Netflix and YouTube are among many services that allow you to “stream” movies, TV shows, and videos. They offer engaging options and offer an exciting alternative—or addition—to regular cable TV. This class teaches participants how these services work and how users can find interesting content to enjoy.
These classes focus on creating art using the Procreate App on iPad. All materials are provided. Artwork produced in class can be brought home on a phone or computer.
In this class, we cover the basics of creating art in Procreate, the most popular digital art app for the iPad. We cover various features in the app, such as using different brushes, blending colors, and importing photos to work from.
This class covers advanced techniques for creating artwork in Procreate. We explore using symmetry guides, unique screen gestures in Procreate, and adding color to our pieces.
This class explores specific techniques for observational drawing and features in Procreate that can help with sketching what we see. We explore using layers, different brushes, unique colors, and outlining techniques to create our drawings.
Procreate makes it simple to use a reference picture to guide our art. In this class, we learn to find reference photos and import them into our artwork to use as guides. We draw various animals, then unique creations of our very own.
This class covers using Procreate to explore fonts, styles, and techniques for drawing words and names in colorful, creative ways. Participants learn to draw in 3D, use basic calligraphy techniques, and find complementary colors.
This class dives into Procreate’s animation features. We learn how animation works, then create our own animated image by drawing each frame.
These classes are specifically designed for users of the Apple Watch.
This class will teach attendees about the Apple Watch’s hardware, including its speakers, screen, and buttons, as well as the basics of navigating the Apple Watch and using its apps for messaging, making and answering calls, and other important functions.
This class walks attendees through the Apple Watch’s built-in features for tracking health and fitness, as well as apps used for gaining a deeper understanding of your day-to-day health in the Apple Watch and iPhone. Class includes a 20-30 minute walk where we check our heart rates, track our calories, and count our steps.
This class focuses on using the Apple Watch and iPhone together to gain a better view of our physical health. We explore the heart rate monitor, EKG test, fall detection, and the Health App in the iPhone, which allows us to provide important health information to first responders.
