All classes offered by KevTech are available for groups and for individual instruction. Classes last roughly an hour to an hour and a half. Group classes are limited to 15 attendees, and include time for questions and answers at the end. Call or email to book a private class.
These classes are designed for users of the Apple iPhone or iPad; content is applicable to both devices.
This class introduces users to the basics of navigation and features of the device. We cover the hardware of the iPhone, including the buttons, volume switch, cameras, and speakers; navigation to important areas of the phone; and iPhone applications for calling and messaging.
This beginner course introduces users of the iPhone to methods for keeping track of different priorities, tasks, and events using the Notes, Reminders, and Calendar in the iPhone and iPad. This class also covers using Siri, the iPhone’s virtual assistant.
In this class, we dive into the Camera App on the iPhone, exploring the different features of the iPhone camera, as well as adjustments that can be made for photography in different settings. We also go into Photos and discuss organizing photos into Favorites and Albums.
In this class, we address the organization of photos, then choose photos to edit. We discuss and learn about filters, contrast, saturation, cropping, and other options for making adjustments to photos in the iPhone and iPad. Attendees select one or two photos to practice editing on their devices.
Following an introduction where we discuss photography concepts, attendees will be guided to one or more preselected locations for taking photos. We explore basic techniques in photography and features of the iPhone camera and get hands-on practice with different camera modes featured in the iPhone.
This class explores simple videography concepts for capturing quality videos. Attendees will learn to adjust settings for the videos their phones take, as well as learn the different types of videos they can take using the iPhone. We also go into Photos to see features for editing different types of videos.
In this class, we work our way through the settings of the iPhone and iPad, discussing which settings are important to know how to access, which are meant for personalizing the devices, and which can be avoided entirely!
In this class, we discuss the benefits of adding credit and debit cards to your devices, as well as what other things can be added into our Apple Wallet. We also cover how these cards can be used for online purchases.
In this class, we explore different ways of building up a music library we can access at any time through our phones, or our iPads when they are connected to the internet. We see the process of finding and purchasing music in the iTunes Store, as well as discuss the benefits of music platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
In this class, dive into the Books app, which is available on all Apple products. In it, we learn to find free books, purchase books we want to buy, and read them directly from our devices at any time.
When using the internet on your computer or phone, it's important to properly protect your online identity. In this class, we learn important measures we can take to secure our accounts, such as resetting passwords, adjusting settings, and getting rid of unwanted emails.
In this class, attendees learn about the basics of email and the Apple Mail app. As a class, we go through setting up an email account in the mail app, sending emails and reading incoming emails, and managing inboxes and folders. Attendees are encouraged, but not required, to have an email address set up prior to the class.
This class explores features built into all Apple products for synchronizing devices and keeping data uniform across devices. We discuss and learn about how iCloud keeps information safe, saves storage, and allows users to stay organized on the go. Attendees are encouraged, but not required, to bring two Apple devices to learn how they synchronize and share information with each other.
These classes are tailored towards those with a solid understanding of their devices. These classes may also require specific apps to be downloaded.
In this class, we cover the basics of creating art in the Procreate app, one of the most frequently used apps for creating art on the iPad. We cover the various features offered in the app for colors, brushes, layers, and more. This class includes an activity in which attendees create their own unique artwork.
This class goes into advanced techniques for creating artwork in the Procreate app, including a deeper view of settings and adjustments, drawing techniques, and Procreate features. Class includes an activity in which attendees create their own unique artwork.
This class explores specific techniques used for observational drawing on the iPad. We explore using layers and different brushes and colors to create our drawings, as well as shading and outlining techniques. Class includes an activity in which attendees leave with a completed sketch.
This class dives more deeply into different video-taking techniques, and explores in-depth features of the iPhone that allow for high-quality video to be captured. The class includes a short walk to a preselected location to practice taking different types of videos, then a return to the classroom for hands-on training editing slo-mo videos, time lapses, and more.
In this class, we go into the iMovie app to learn how to put photos and videos together into longer movies. We cover techniques for cropping videos, adding subtitles, including transitions between clips, and more.
These classes are specifically designed for users of the Apple Watch.
This class will teach attendees about the Apple Watch’s hardware, including its speakers, screen, and buttons, as well as the basics of navigating the Apple Watch and using its apps for messaging, making and answering calls, and other important functions.
This class walks attendees through the Apple Watch’s built-in features for tracking health and fitness, as well as apps used for gaining a deeper understanding of your day-to-day health in the Apple Watch and iPhone. Class includes a 20-30 minute walk where we check our heart rates, track our calories, and count our steps.
This class focuses on using the Apple Watch and iPhone together to gain a better view of our physical health. We explore the heart rate monitor, EKG test, fall detection, and the Health App in the iPhone, which allows us to provide important health information to first responders.
